As has been the case with all of the 2024 D&D rules releases, I’ve gone back and forth on if I should review them or not. It’s no secret that I’m not a big fan of the 2024 ruleset. I’m not playing this version of D&D, and I don’t plan to. However, this is the…
The second Monster Vault release for Tales of the Valiant (and D&D 5E) is finally here. Those of you that are clinging to the 2014 D&D rules, or those of you who are actually playing Tales of the Valiant proper are probably asking, is there really anything of value in this book? It’s a fair…
Happy Halloween! In keeping with my tradition of playing a horror game during the month of October, I come to you today with a real doozy of a game. Today, I’m going to talk about Silent Hill 4: The Room. If you’re a long time reader of this blog, then you’ll know that I’ve been…
It’s October! That means it’s time for horror movies, spooky games, creepy comics, and chilling reads. As usual, I’ve turned to Stephen King to scratch that autumn itch. The last time I reviewed a King novel was back at the beginning of the year, with Running Man. That means the next book on my list…
This is a review that I’ve been sitting on for a little while now. Some time ago, I backed a Kickstarter from Kobold Press for an expansion to their Tales of the Valiant ruleset. That is until I found this on my local grocery shelf; Chocolate Dipped Pistachio from Green Mountain Coffee. It’s been…
If you’re a fan of Goodman Games’ Original Adventures Reincarnated line, here’s one you might have missed, Hellpits of Nightfang. Recently, I talked about OAR #9, Caverns of Thracia. I was one of the Kickstarter backers for that project, and as a part of my pledge, I also received an item labeled as OAR #9.5…
This is a post that some of you might be surprised to read. But I’m writing this to declare my intention to shift my daily tech usage away from Windows PCs and back to the Mac. Most of my readers might not know this, but shortly before I started this blog back back in 2012,…
This review represents another milestone in my backlog. Doom 3 is a game that I’ve wanted to play ever since it came out over twenty years ago. I was huge fan of the original two Doom games, but for one reason or another, when the third entry hit the scene, I just never managed to…
It has come to my attention that bad actors were able to access the admin panel of this site and possibly inject malicious code. Users who interacted with certain elements of the site (the search box, comments, etc.) have reporting seeing pop-up screens asking them to update their web browser. From there, it is believed…
